Whitten Architects in beautiful Portland, Maine, has a rare opening for an independently motivated Architectural Designer interested in joining our award-winning, client-focused, and design-driven residential practice. Design homes for extraordinary sites in Northern New England and be an integral member of a forward-thinking firm with a 30-plus-year history and vision for the future. The ideal candidate should have a specific passion for residential architecture, client contact, and an eagerness to both learn from and contribute to our collaborative studio environment.

Responsibilities:
• Partner with lead project architects in an iterative design process
• Assist in the assembly of design presentations and Architectural Documents
• Participate in sourcing and specification of materials and systems
• Support our Construction Administration to ensure design intent

Requirements:
• Ability to multi-task and a desire to positively contribute to design
• Excellent communication and time management skills
• Strong graphic communication capabilities - hand drawing is celebrated
• Proficiency in ArchiCAD (or similar), Sketchup, and Adobe Creative Suite
