2016 Tuscan Hills

The days are getting shorter and I think back to our September walk in the Tuscan Hills. Our note book illustrates the medieval route of the Francigena through villages and beautiful Italian landscapes. Along the way we see 2500 years of architecture from an old Roman bath that acts as the village swimming hole, to protected stone cities on the ridge, to old farmsteads and the Fall harvest. It’s a time to sketch, relax, and enjoy the country at a walking pace. We return recharged and ready for the next season of designs and new homes.
