site conditions: A coastal granite cliff, 40 above the water line, with a non-conforming, pre-existing, seasonal structure.
client program: A four-season home with a private master suite, guest suite and 2 additional bedrooms within an open plan featuring a 5-stop elevator, HVAC, radiant heat and 3-car garage.
design response: A shingle style home with large porches, lots of glass, 3 fireplaces and such premium finishes as river recovered heart pine, stone flooring and black marble counters and a high level of detail, including the architect-designed weather vane.
