Dash Landing Home Nears Completion

Our Dash Landing clients, own a beautiful south facing site, that looks out over a large field, wetlands, and a tidal marsh. They came to us with a clear vision of the home they wanted, a home they said, "seemed to tread between modern shingle style and modern farmhouse". We were able to help them realize their vision by starting with their "wish list" and thoughtful program of spatial needs:

Their "wish list" included the following:

  • 2400 to 2600 square feet of living space
  • a working mudroom with space for sports gear and wet dogs
  •
  • protected outside living areas, easily accessed from the interior of the home
  •
  • sunny and open kitchen connected to the main living spaces
  •
  • private first floor master suite
  •
  • private first floor office with built-ins
  •
  • two small second floor bedrooms with a shared bath
  •
  • ""green design"" systems, high performance, energy efficient, low maintenance
  •
  • connected two car garage with large workshop and project spaces

As Rousseau Builders near completion on the construction of Dash Landing Home. It's fun to look back at a few early design sketches and thoughts. Thirteen months later they will be moving into their new home.

Throughout design and construction, our client's have done a wonderful job of documenting the process in their blog: A House In A Field - The story of a house, in a field, and how it gets there.
